Both éthic étapes' ranking systems provide a completely reliable profile of each centre as regards the comfort and the range of services offered. As they are continually updated, the criteria allow every guest to have a precise idea of their stay.

> the ''comfort and services'' ranking system

This ranking system was set up in 1993 and has been completely updated in 2003 and 2012.
It includes:
  • accommodation: comfort of rooms, cleanliness of the bathroom fittings and common spaces...
  • catering: variety of menus, adequate opening hours of the restaurants, clean comfort catering areas...
  • reception: opening hours of the reception service, reception areas...
  • recreation areas: high quality and numerous common spaces
  • additional services offered to our guests: modes of payment, shops, internet access, luggage storage...
It is based on nearly 150 criteria, corresponding to the centres' characteristics, which are usually checked in order to establish a reliable classification of the centres.


> the ''activities and surroundings'' ranking system
This ranking system was set up in 2001 so as to emphasize the environmental dimension of the éthic étapes centres and their activities. It thus values:
  • means of transport used to reach the centre
  • shops and local activities
  • activities offered by the éthic étapes centres and their local partners (artistic, cultural and sporting activities...)
  • the activities policy implemented by each ethic étapes centre the local environment and the sporting equipment of the centre
